BOYCOTT PROPOSAL
A proposal to boycott all products from Israel sold in The Food Co-op has been submitted to the Board of Directors. Israeli products sold in the store: Peace Oil Olive Oil, Tropical Source mint chocolate bars, Glutino Pretzels (GF), Ener-G Pretzels (GF), bulk paprika, bulk pearled Israeli couscous, Masada Bath Salts.

Food Co-op members may comment about the proposed boycott by placing a comment card, available at the Board's board, in the Board's correspondence box.

Members are invited to comment at the 3rd Tuesday meeting on September 21, 6-9 pm. Meeting location: Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 2333 San Juan in Port Townsend. Member comments begin at 6:15pm.

The following policies direct the Port Townsend Food Co-Op to:

POLICY B8: EXECUTIVE LIMITATIONS

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND VALUE

B8.8 Ensure that the store not be utilized for political purposes; therefore, s/he shall not fail to:

B8.8.1 Ensure that signs, banners, newsletters and other materials endorsing or urging opposition to any (a) candidate(s) for public office, (b) referenda, propositions, resolutions or any other items on a public ballot, or (c) community matters not directly related to organic, natural and healthy foods, are not created by the Co-op nor displayed within the Co-op premises except that, with respect to item (c), petition gathering may be permitted at the store entrances so long as ingress and egress are not impeded.
